Everyone deserves to feel safe in the community they call home. Strong neighborhoods begin with supporting our police officers, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, and first responders while ensuring they have the staffing, resources, and tools needed to protect our communities. Danielle supports strengthening law enforcement presence, improving emergency response, and taking stronger action to prevent and combat illegal drugs, burglaries, robberies, gun violence, and other crimes that threaten the safety of our families and neighborhoods.
Public safety also means being prepared before disaster strikes. As an experienced emergency manager and responder, Danielle brings years of real-world experience preparing for emergencies, supporting disaster operations, and helping communities respond and recover, and understands firsthand that strong preparedness and resilient infrastructure save lives. Hawaiʻi is facing growing threats from hurricanes, wildfires, drought, flooding, and other disasters. Our Central Oʻahu communities need stronger emergency planning, improved evacuation and response capabilities, and stronger shelters, homes, and infrastructure to withstand major disasters.
Keeping our communities safe also requires investing in the critical infrastructure they depend on every day and during emergencies. This means strengthening Hawaiʻi’s electrical grid, protecting reliable water and communications systems, improving disaster-resilient infrastructure, and expanding fire protection for Kunia and surrounding agricultural and brush lands. Danielle knows that protecting Central Oʻahu requires experienced leadership before, during, and after an emergency, from strengthening critical infrastructure and preparedness to coordinating response and recovery.
Danielle believes strong communities are communities where families feel safe, first responders have the support they need, and neighbors know that when challenges come, we are prepared to face them together.
